perhaps one of the most enjoyable camp that ive been to. hahaha still tired from the half all nighter with alys ;) so i dont think i'll be writing much. going to dot-point major events (activities) which i'd enjoy on retreat:
(what the?! what happened to the dot point button) :( fine paragraphs
i'll try go in chronological order
* newspaper fashion parade
fun filled moment where everyone's imagination goes wild.
creating eco friendly masterpieces of dresses to suits and parading it down a tape-on-floor catwalk. House of DiBari won! :D YAY! special thanks to Linda Hunt for being a great model & putting up with people sticking newspaper and tape all over her.
* 40 minute reflection
occuring before the liturgy. we had several stations in our chapel where it was dedicated to something - tarot card, clay thing, reconciliation box, prayers for friends, reading corners of social justice etc, and candle area. the station which hit me the most hardest would have been the candle area. initially i came with the intention that i would pray for my family & friends and ended up crying with my friends watching the candles burning in the tray. it was at that point that all the thoughts of study was all forgotten and all i had in my mind was to the people i love. i cant even think how i would turn out if i had lost everything.
* liturgy
a tradition which occurs on every year 12 retreat where we run our own liturgy. apart from the listening of readings from the bible. the most enjoyable part of the liturgy was at the end. before we were suppose to end the liturgy there was a bit of technical difficulty (by Stephanie & Jenny). Mr O was going to bless us before we finish off then "tiktok" by Ke$ha started playing - the whole group ended up getting up from sitting to dancing and singing along with the music to a conga line thing. it was one of the most enjoyable liturgy i have ever participated. the only scary thing that alys and i was running through our minds were how the floor was trembling due to the mass of girls dancing and jumping. hahaha flying stars and thong :P
* journal writing
i never thought i would ever enjoy journal writing but this time things have changed. well, intially i didnt have much to say. so i decided to write my whole journal in backwards handwriting. that was fun. i'll post up my journal in another post and maybe scan some pages if im not feeling lazy.
quiz
* breaking rules
only cause its our last year that i convinced the girls in my cabin to sneak over to the others for an all-nighter which a kind of failed regardless of that i still had fun - staying awake til 2 something almost 3 just talking and stuff ;). hahaha the things that were said and asked were so funny. monopoly was never played in the end similarly to when we brought it to canberra trip :P. truth/dare. hahaha no comment. hmm... lick a brick?! fine.
* quiz
woot! woot! smackkjtl came second on a tie with penny's team on 54 points (i think). good game good game :D
mainly about how much we know about the school we have attended, teachers and music. bonus points: good job miss sophibet and mr tincy from "modest and non-predjudice" (Y). chocolate - yum :)
i wished this retreat had gone on much longer, it was an event of smiles and tears that will never forget. learnt how much my family and friends meant so much to me.
superawesome -> infinity
agreed ! :)
